“Amy is an incredible guide who makes you feel welcomed, calm, and capable right from the start! I signed up for the MBSR course on the recommendation of a friend, without knowing much about it. I was unsure what I was getting into at first, but Amy made learning mindfulness easy, interesting, and fun! I came to eagerly look forward to each class. Every week was something new, yet they all provide that sense of empowering calm that for me was a life-changing experience that I continue to benefit from even after it ended. Amy has a natural skill for helping students learn mindfulness in a happy and peaceful way.”

First created in 1979, by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., MBSR has over 40 years of research that consistently demonstrates positive outcomes associated with increased self-awareness and emotional and attentional regulation. In addition, outcomes highlight statistically significant reductions in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions including anxiety, depression and chronic pain, along with positive changes in risk factors that may lead to more serious chronic ailments.
Join us to explore how mindfulness may support you in living life more fully, with greater ease and joy.

Educator Workshops~
Amy has worked with educators since 2012. These sessions include practices for the teachers themselves. Many have found that if the teachers are familiar with their own stress triggers and how to use mindfulness as support or coping mechanisms in and out of the classroom, then this will flow over to the classroom, and they can support students in similar ways. You can’t teach someone how to play the guitar if you yourself do not play.
Community Workshops~
Amy has done workshops within many local communities. She can tailor them to your needs and purposes. The most popular workshop is a 90-minute session introducing 2-3 basic practices of mindfulness meditation, depending on the interest of the group. Included in the session would be discussion of what mindfulness is, why it works, how the brain changes, and how this relates to everyday life.
If so desired, Amy is available to lead an ongoing class once a week for 30-60 minutes.
Community workshops have been done in person and virtually with libraries, schools, outdoor parks, and in-home book clubs.
Mindfulness in the Workplace ~
A mindfulness session with co-workers can be a team-building exercise as well as a practice of self-discovery. Learn how to integrate mindful moments during your workday and cope with triggers of stress. Included would be basic practices of mindfulness meditation, discussing what mindfulness is, how mindfulness meditation works in the brain, and how this relates to everyday life.
Individual and Family Sessions ~
Amy has worked with many parents and children since 2011. Some options would be working together as a family, group sessions with different members, or one-on-one with individuals. Parents will be given handouts of written meditations and tips and resources to help support them meditating with their children. Planting the seed of mindfulness at a young age can be very empowering for both parent and child. It may also be considered as a special bonding time. Many adult meditators have said they wish they learned these skills in their youth.
Teen workshops ~
Teen workshops can be done one-on-one or in a group setting. Amy is available to come to your home, school, team meetings, or club meetings. Amy makes a point to talk about how the brain looks and acts with mindfulness meditation and without. She relates the practices to their everyday life challenges and how meditation practices can support them now and throughout their lives. Options for teen workshops would be 4-6 one-hour sessions or a 90-minute introductory session.
